Forum: The Secret Life of War Reporters – The Real-Life Dramas Behind Time Stands Still
Time Stands Still, the acclaimed new Broadway play by Pulitzer-winning dramatist Donald Margulies, recounts how a war correspondent and a combat photographer face life together at home after a catastrophic assignment. At 5:30 p.m. at Columbia University in New York City on Monday Feb. 8, 2010, Margulies will discuss how war reporters reckon with news ethics, violence and the effect of combat on their domestic lives with award-winning journalists — and married couple — Emma Daly and Santiago Lyon.

Briefing: Helping Staff Cope with Haiti Coverage
We’ve all seen the incredible images and read the heartbreaking stories filed by journalists covering the recent catastrophe in Haiti. How do those reporters and news photographers internalize and process the human suffering they’ve witnessed while doing their job? How can their home bureaus best support them when they return?
At 9 a.m. on Feb. 2, 2010, Dart Center Executive Director Bruce Shapiro will give a briefing for news managers about helping newsrooms stay resilient at the National Press Club in Washington D.C.
