INFORMATION AND DISCUSSION MEETING on “BREAKING THE VICIOUS CIRCLE”

Speakers with three cultural backgrounds:

Mr. Mohamed IBRAHIM, Mr. Samson ALTMAN-SCHEVITZ, Mr. Christian WEBER

Breaking The Vicious Circle brings together twenty young people living in
Germany, Poland, and Israel and in the Palestinian territories. For six days, they meet in workshops and explore a possible peace solution in the Middle East, learning from the European process of reconciliation. The project exists already for eight years and was initiated by Rev. Christian Weber in collaboration with Mohamed Ibrahim and Samson Altman-Schevitz. The Israeli and Palestinian participants are all direct victims of the conflict having lost a family member or close friend to the conflict. The German and Polish participants have either Jewish or Arab background.
The project’s objective is to motivate the young people to take part in the social and political process of their respective communities, including the Arab and Jewish Diaspora communities in Europe to work towards peace and
understanding both in the Middle East as well as between the two communities within Europe.

A ground pass is required to enter Vienna International Centre (VIC).
If you do not have a permanent pass, please mail your name to reno@wvnet.at not later than 9 February. A list of participants will then be at the main gate of the VIC and upon showing a personal document you will be issued a ground pass.

Recipients of this invitation who would like to attend the meeting are requested
to present this invitation and their identity document at Gate 1 of the VIC.
