FIAN – FOOD FIRST INFORMATION and ACTION NETWORK is an international
human rights organization that takes worldwide action for the realization of the
right to food as a human right. With close to one billion of people suffering
from hunger on a daily basis, the right to food is one of the most often violated
human rights. Ms. Klaffenböck will present the instruments and methods used
by FIAN since twenty years to defend this right.
Ms. Gertrude Klaffenböck has studied agro-economy. Since 2003 she is the
Coordinator of FIAN Austria. Main focus of her work is currently on gender
relations, access to resources and justiciability of the Human right to food.
