The Florentine Renaissance in the 15th century was not only sweet and nice and wonderful, but also violent and cruel. The same patrons, philosophers, and artists we adore today, such as
- Lorenzo il Magnifico,
- Angelo Poliziano or
- Filippo Brunelleschi
