invite to the INTERNATIONAL PEACE DAY CELEBRATION

With a special focus on a CULTURE of PEACE

In commemoration of the 170th birthday of Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Bertha von Suttner

Date: Monday, 23 September 2013

PROGRAM

I. Statement by Mr. Franz Kolar
Chief of the Vienna Office,
United Nations Office for Disarmament Affairs (UNODA)

II. Bertha von Suttner´s historic struggle for
peace and disarmament

III. European Peace Walks Project
Ms. Susanne Jalka presents the European Peace Walks Project
and invites citizens of all countries to take up the idea of
peace walks as an instrument to promote peace

IV. Ringing of the Peace Bell

V. Peace Walk through Vienna
Ms. Jalka invites interested participants to a guided
Peace Walk through Vienna (60 minutes)

Guests are welcome!

Access to VIC:

A VIC grounds pass is required to enter the Vienna International Centre.

Recipients of this invitation, or their guests, who do not hold a VIC
grounds pass, are kindly requested to register by sending an email
with separate indication of their family name and given name,
as it appears in ID or passport, to
lau.videla@gmail.com

Deadline for registration: Wednesday, 18 September 2013

Registered participants will be included in a list held by UN security
at the main gate of the VIC. Please present this invitation along
with a valid ID or passport at Gate 1 of the VIC.
Please consider that formalities at Gate 1 may take time and
kindly arrive sufficiently in advance of the meeting.

The VIC, 1220 Wien, Wagramer Strasse 5, is best reached by U1
(Kaisermühlen/Vienna International Centre).
