Suttner Friedenspalast – Peace Palace
The Bertha von Suttner project is a collaborative effort amongst 3 different individuals in 3 different countries. It arose out of a 2012 conversation in the Peace Palace Library between Candice Alihusian (The Hague, Netherlands) and Hope Elizabeth May (Mt. Pleasant, MI, USA).
Bemoaning the fact that few people know of Bertha von Suttner, and noting that the Centenary of the Peace Palace (August 28, 2013) provides an opportune time for developing an educational project focused on this important woman, the idea for the Bertha von Suttner project was born. Dr. Arthur Eyffinger (Germany/The Hague), an expert on The Hague Tradition who has developed numerous exhibitions on Bertha von Suttner, joined the project shortly after its inception.
The Bertha von Suttner project is an endeavor of „Piece of the Palace“, a constellation of activities in celebration of the centenary of the Peace Palace.
